Violin
Here's a poem I wrote in fourth grade:
Violin
Tune
of “Allegro” playing
Sounds
like notes flooding to my ears
Looks
like strings surrounded by brown paint
Smells
like professional painted wood
Tastes
like artificial painted wood
Rosin
smell is finding its way through my nose
Remembering
“Every Good Boy Does Fine”
Feels
like a door without screws
Now that’s a violin

The Clone Attack
The Clone Attack is about a girl named Allison. Allison just moved into town and she feels that nobody will be her friend because she's weird. Allison is a fifth grader who loves making up her own games, going on adventures and being crazy. But, unexpectedly, on her first day of school, she makes tons of friends named Kate, Abby, Matilda, Ariana, Grace, Alice, Megan, Elane, Shannon and Kaitlynn. One day, the girls schedule a play date all together at the playground. Allison brings along her two younger sisters, Carly and Samantha. Allison arrives last and as she walks toward her friends, Kate changed from herself to a cyclops, and so did Ariana! The ten girls keep changing their shapes. Plus, when Grace stared into a rabbit for couple of seconds, it died. When Carly takes a couple of steps, Alice's eyes stare into hers. But Allison saves her sister in time. She realizes that every step they take attracts the clones. Will Allison be able to save herself and her sisters?

Reflection
This was a reflection I made in fourth grade with my mentor but I kind of changed some parts of it. So here it is:
Hi, my name is Aastha. Let me tell you a little about myself, I am in fifth grade and I’m 10 years old. I love to read, write, play with my little sister and watch TV. I also play the violin and piano. Now let’s get back to my reflection, this is about why I want to an author when I grow up.
Though, it’s your choice if you want to continue reading this.
Yes or No
If you’ve made the right decision and decided to read this reflection, let’s get started. I started to have interest in writing when I was 7 or 8. It was in California when me and my best friend decided to write a story together but we ended up writing our own stories. Every day I would write my story and after a few weeks or so, I finished it. Then I read it to my parents and they said it was a great. My dad even emailed it to my third grade teacher to read. Before me and my friend wrote our stories, I would write short stories by myself. And that is how I got interest in writing.
In fourth grade, I joined a program called NaNoWriMo and I published a book named “Jessie the Wizard”. It’s about a girl named Jessie who goes on an adventure to save her older sister. I am currently writing a “The New Girl” and “The Fausters” story.
I like to write because I think it’s fun to just imagine something and make it into a story because nobody can tell you what you have to write about or tell you that you can’t mention something in your story.
Now, our next topic is what I would be if I wasn’t an author. I don’t really know about that but when I was young, I always thought I would be a doctor, teacher or an artist.
In my life, I’ve have met 5 authors. Some authors that I wish to see are, J.K Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter series, Rick Riordan who writes about Greek Mythology, and Suzanne Collins who wrote the Hunger Games series.
My dream is to become as famous as J.K Rowling because I think that she is an awesome writer.
Well, this is the end of my reflection, so I hope you enjoyed it!
Big Trouble
Big Trouble is about a girl named Leah. Leah is an adopted child with cranky parents who lock her up in her room the whole day and force her to sit in front of the TV. Six years back, when Leah was five years old, while her parents went out to the market, she sneaked out of the house and walked to the library across their house. The librarian was really nice and let Leah come in whenever she wanted to. One day, Leah's parents find out and get really angered up at her. Her dad storms into her room and rips up all the books as Leah whimpers silently on the bed. Now that she's 11, she knows better of it. Leah goes to a dreadful school full of horrors and nasty things. In that school, she finds out she has some kind of power to convince people to agree to everything she says. She likes playing around with it, especially with her parents. Though, sometimes it leads her into serious trouble she shouldn't even be in! Leah wishes she could just give up her power. What will she do?
My Biography
So, I'm going to tell you a short biography of myself today!
I was born in India and I lived there for about 5 years.
Then I moved to Tennesee. It was really hard to learn a new language but I did it. When I was in first grade, I started enjoying reading and I ended up reading the whole Junie B. Jones series.
Then I moved to California and lived there for two years. I played a LOT with my friends that lived in my complex. When I was in third grade, I decided I wanted to be an author because I LOVED to read! I usually wrote short stories about ideas I got from other books. I even wrote a bunch of stories that I never even finished. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Cleland noticed I enjoyed reading and writing and she really supported me.
And then in the middle of third grade, I moved to Iowa where I met wonderful friends and teachers. In fourth grade,, I started liking writing even more! I read a bunch of books including the Harry Potter series. I joined a writing program called NaNoWriMo where I published Jessie the Wizard. I also had a mentor in fourth grade and I made a Power Point slide about some of my favorite authors and the writing courses you have to take in college. Plus, I made an reflection of why I wanted to be an author.
But sadly, we had to move to Pennsylvania. So far fifth grade is really fun! Now I like writing MUCH more!
Anyways, hope you enjoyed!
